Upcycled Wooden Shoebox In Barn Wood And Purpleheart
I love using purpleheart in my creations because the deep color of the wood gives a lovely burst of color to any piece I make. For this piece, I used several strips of barn wood to give it a textured look. One strip of purpleheart was all I needed to make the box "pop" with modern elegance. I assembled the wooden pieces using traditional joinery to give the piece a more rustic effect. I applied a coat of Danish oil and Minwax to the piece for a natural-looking sheen. This lovely show box measures 10" x 10" x 3".
