Pocket Watch Display Box
My customer wanted a simple/not clumsy somewhat ornate faced case for their husbands newly acquired pocket watch. I did my best to accommodate. I used a solid piece of walnut for the carcass and used squared walnut for the trim, although I routed it to give it a little flavor. It also received a magnetic catch for the rear access door. I hand carved the front face and added beautiful long legs my customer didn't want. So off came the refined legs and I put on shorter ones to meet my customers needs.
