Custom Historic Fountain Pen
This project was created for a very special father. His son came to me to produce a fountain pen that would truly be one of a kind. The Materials we selected were all natural materials, and consisted of Black Buffalo Horn, Pre-Ban Elephant Ivory, and Cedar of Lebanon. The Cedar of Lebanon was true witness wood, as it was salvaged from the Montpelier Estate of our fourth president, James Madison. Custom Made Eagle finials were hand cast from sterling silver to match the Rhodium plated body and cap sections. Adorned with a #6 Bock nib and SCHMIDT Piston Convertor. Fathers Initials were laser engraved into the cap. It was an honor to work with such materials for such an amazing project. Shipped with COA from Historic Woods of America and Custom engraved maple Gift box. Wonderful example of Engraving and the many options that can go into a hand crafted writing instrument.

We had some trouble finding the pen blank I wanted, but fortunately I stumbled upon a web site that offered hundreds of blanks and Justin ordered the one I liked. Once the project finally got rolling he did a great job of discussing my options. He even video taped the turning process, describing the steps. The pen was shipped and arrived within days of completion. The results were as impressive as expected and fairly priced. I would highly consider working with him again in the future.
