Secret Door-Dead Cabinet Space Repurposing

$300

Our clients had a section of their kitchen cabinets that was like a black hole: things don't get stored there, they are lost forever. Living in a small city apartment, every inch counts! So they had the idea to enter the space from the other side and use it as a filing cabinet cum scanner/printer station and Nathan made it happen. He cut out the back and installed pull out drawers and file hangers to make everything easily accessible. Then, to make it invisible, he used the cut out material to make the door and used a dark handle to blend in. We can do alterations to existing cabinetry, or simply update to pull out drawers instead of shelving or pull outs to open shelving, whatever your needs may be.

Growing up on what I like to refer to as a "hobby farm" in Granville, Ohio, I started out building tree stands and little bridges in the woods as soon as I was able to understand what a saw was and use it. I worked rough construction from the age of 16, but it wasn't until I came to California to build a Buddhist temple that I started to realize my passion for fine woodwork, and learn more about the craft.

Years later, bringing more beauty and functionality into day to day life is the goal. The shop is at Alameda Point Studios, a beautiful space with a view of the San Francisco Bay, and chock full of powerful, finely tuned tools and good people. I take pride in creating custom furniture and cabinetry, with an eye on sustainability for the earth and workers.

After almost 5 years immersed in Tibetan Buddhist art and philosophy and subsequent years of working for myself, the importance of the whole process of building is apparent. That includes a comfortable working relationship with clients and designers as well as bringing tangible, quality results, on time.

We do furniture pieces as well as residential and commercial cabinetry and architectural elements. Some notable commercial clients include The America's Cup, Kenwood Winery, Superbowl 50 Host Committee, Craftsman and Wolves, Cellarmaker Brewing Company, and The Good Hop.

Let me know if you see anything in my portfolio that you'd like to tweak, or if you have ideas you'd like to turn into reality.

Looking forward to working together.
