Wood Book Cover/Binder

$100

This is a Jamaican-themed coptic-stitched scrapbook, handcrafted with reclaimed wooden covers which are laser engraved with the Jamaican coat of arms and filigree designs. The covers are made of an old school bench, cut to size, sanded and polished prior to engraving and then polished again. All scratches and marks in the wood were already on the wood before it was cut. This book features black, yellow and green cardstock pages inside (to mimic the Jamaican flag colors) as well as an equal number of "stub pages." "Stub pages" are short 2" wide pages designed to add thickness to the spine to allow the buyer to add their own pages to the book while still allowing it to close fully. This book also has yellow, green and black stitching accents along the spine done with embroidery floss and waxed linen thread. An image of the Jamaican flag is adhered inside the front cover and the book is signed, numbered 1/1 and dated by the maker inside the back cover.
