Quarter Sawn Oak Angular Coffee Table
For the same client as the expanding dining room table, I created this interesting coffee table. The top had a warm textured top that was created by wearing the material with a wire brush, leaving the heartier grain pronounced. Inspired a bit by George Nakashima and his Conoid series I created a very angular leg design that while looking frail, was supported using time tested hand cut joinery to offer strength and simplicity in design.
