Firewood Serving Tray
The body is recovered Firewood, cut 1/4" thick and backed with plywood, mounted book-matched down the center. The trim and ends are Kiaat, or Muninga, with the ends jointed with a sliding Dovetail. Finished with Tung Oil, Shellac and Lacquer, buffed to a high gloss, followed by Paste Wax.

I'm a woodworker specializing in the interpretations of household items. I use my mathematics background to design jewelry and keepsake boxes, clocks, tool boxes and items for entertaining. I execute all aspects of the creation of all my works, starting with the selection of the wood up through the finishing. A quality and creative finish is of paramount importance to me. Along with using oils to bring out the depth of the wood and shellac and lacquer to provide a protective gloss, I'm always experimenting with dyes to add color when warranted.
The collaborative process of a custom made work permits me to use my craft as a means of communication. I enjoy to work with a potential client to refine the combined vision and in the end deliver that unique work that complements their environment.
