Fantasy Football Trophy Bust

It was a totally satisfying experience to work with Roxana Casillas on this difficult project. Her suggestions for the type of sculpture (3D or low relief) and material to use for sculpting (marble or other types of stone) were very helpful. Furthermore, she listened to my minor criticisms of how the animals being sculpted should appear, in order to look as natural as possible, and faithfully complied with my suggestions. As a serious collector of elephant art in many forms, I am completely satisfied with her sculpting talents and pleasant nature in responding to my suggestions. She is a fine lady of superb talent.

Throughout the entire process there were many small mistakes, but I kept telling myself it will be fine, but by the time I got my project I was just disappointed. I asked her to recreate a ceramic piece that my wife's grandma had always had on the wall, but replacing my grandma's name with her name, so it was very sentimental and from her work I saw it looked like it'd be no problem for her. I asked for a 5inch by 15inch dimensions, and provided a picture of the original. What I got was a warped trapezoid, obvious from the time I picked it up. It was 4.5" long on the left, 5" on the right, 13" on the top and 13.7" on the bottom. Also the spelling of my wife's name (Kristian) always looked odd to me, the 'a' looked like a Q, but I thought it was ok, until I realized it was mixed lower case and upper case, like 'KRISTIan", so that's also a dumb mistake. The whole thing took almost 2 and a half months to get to me, way longer than it should, the colors are off, and I feel like I could have done it better myself. I can't say she has an eye for detail. Maybe it's an artist thing where she can make something from her mind come out ok on a sculpture, but she f-d this thing up so bad I wonder if she just didn't care or if she has lost her touch.

The project proceeded well, even though there were the usual hiccups. There was a minor issue, in that wood selected was a bit temperamental. The final result, nevertheless, was excellent!

Roxana was great! She helped me figure out exactly what I wanted and then went ahead and created an awesome result right on time. Would certainly work with her again.

I couldn't even begin to put this experience into words. Roxana made a sculpture to celebrate me and my Wife's love through marriage. She was the clear choice for my project, gave me detail and as much design freedom as I wanted with pictures sent every step of the way. It is very clear to me that she put her heart into making this sculpture and the end product was everything I could have hoped for. Roxana is an absolute pleasure to work with, she was warm and professional but also super friendly. Look at her page her work speaks for its self.
