This project is a piece I created from a photo of the camels at the Southwick Zoo. The painting was done on a 12"x16" stretched canvas. I used a painting knife to apply a fun-textured foliage background behind the posing beasts. This makes the fine detail of the camels stand out. I used acrylics in this painting, in a realistic style. I enjoy creating custom pieces like this from your photos!

I've been painting with acrylics for 50 years. The New England region is a favorite for my land and seascape paintings, yet I gladly develop custom pieces from photographs supplied by clients. I also enjoy painting animals. My work has garnered many awards in various Art Associations in my area in Central Massachusetts as well as recognition in regional shows in New England.

In addition to my home studio, I teach classes at my studio classroom in Gardner, Massachusetts. I love to share my painting techniques with my students who are always happy and surprised with what they've created.
