Red Wine Inspired Asian Style Dining Table

$3,500

A red wine inspired asian style dining table, absolutely one of a kind and original. Tabletop composed entirely of french oak, reclaimed from retired red wine barrels. No color coats nor dyes/stains were used, simply red wine imparting its distinct and unique color to the wood over years of aging. Table legs are staves from a wine barrel to highlight the difference between rich purples and reds on the inside and a rustic, hard lived exterior. Many wine barrels were disassembled, picked over for in tact and especially vibrant pieces, painstakingly milled and worked into the geometric tiles that compose the honeycomb lattice. Honeycomb intarsia is protected and brought to a uniform level under a bartop epoxy resin Every inch of the table is finished in an ultra-durable catalyzed varnish. Each 'cell' of the honeycomb is backfilled with epoxy resin blackened with graphite, a form of carbon that shares that very same hexagonal honeycomb within its molecular structure A symbol of the natural, the sceintific, that which is timeless, stable, balanced, indivisible and infinite Every aspect of concept, design, woodworking, and final finishing was executed by Andrew Lesuer of Golden CO

I design and create one of a kind works of art with primarily wood and confidently used mixed media. I am a formally trained craftsman and luthier. I am a woodworker by trade, and I’m a woodworking instructor at the red rocks school of fine wood working, I teach classical guitar as well steel string acoustic guitar construction. Crafting instruments is a passion of mine. I am well versed in handcut and machine cut joinery as well as modern contemporary woodworking design styles and approaches. I have training in antique reproduction and antiqued finishes. I am an accomplished inlay artist with a unique style, approach, and a use of mixed media all my own. In everything I craft, be it a guitar, a table, a jewelry box, a picture frame, a wall piece, or even a custom belt buckle, the attention to detail, unique style, and quality of my work, top to bottom, inside and out is intended to drop jaws and leave passers by captivated.
I have a flare for the unconventional and I like making pieces that turn heads. I love blending mediums and styles in ways that you don’t see everyday.
I love a challenge.
