Stone Fireplace And Mantel

This 10' x 10' stone fireplace that I designed and built for a custom home in Orange County is made of hand cut quartzite flagstone and sandstone blocks. The hearth is polished granite with a triple bullnose edge detail. Another one of the features is the top that tapers from two different directions. The customer made an interesting comment about the manner in which I built it. He said that he knew it was engineered and built so well that if the house ever suffered devastating damage in an earthquake he was confident that my work would still be standing. I designed the mantel piece to compliment the cabinetry adjacent to it. The top end price below includes the flue, inside brickwork, the stone work, mantel, hearth and iron screen. I also designed the adjacent cabinetry to compliment the mantel and other cabinetry in the home.
