Free Standing Entertainment Center

One of the projects built for a show here in Coldspring, I built this to hold a large TV in the top shelf, the top shelf is 2 inches think, 48 inches long and 24 inches in depth, its built from 3 slabs and attached together with dowels. The project is 100% eastern red cedar, a favorite wood I like to work with, rich in color and one that will last many lifetimes indoors. The finish is danish oil, a finish I have come to love for its feel and the natural color of the wood is brought out in great detail. The secondary shelves are 1 inch thick ad made from two pieces. 4 whole logs were used as legs and all the character of these gnarly pieces were left to enhance the rustic yet elegant look of cedar. This piece sold at the show!
