This pottery sink is glazed in a golden yellow and is engraved with an intricate Japanese Chrysanthemum pattern. The flowers are a deep amber where the glaze pooled in the texture. This sink was designed to drop into a repurposed cabinet in the client's master bathroom, with the rim of the sink just flush with the counter. The embellishment was carved into the unfired stoneware clay.

I create thrown and slab-built stoneware that is grounded on my formal training in Architectural Engineering. Elements of buildings and the materials used to create them continue to fascinate me. My interest in this is continually renewed as I explore the ways in which clay can imitate some of these rich, tactile surfaces. Applying the basic principles of engineering to a medium as malleable as clay is a constant challenge and one that has kept my interest for over 12 years.
My most recent work has used drawings and photographs to create intricate images. Several of my pieces draw influence from recent trips to Chicago, Japan, and the Czech Republic. The surface of each piece is embellished with architectural details, images and found hardware, duplicated from plaster press molds. The clay is glazed with commercial glazes and washes to bring out the surface texture.
I am very happy with the product. Meghan was very responsive to what I had wanted. She verified everything and kept me apprised throughout the project. I would recommend this vendor without hesitation.
Working with Meaghan to make my salt pig, could have not been a better experience. She answered all emails promptly and was open to any color changes I chose. I would recommend her to anyone wanting quality pottery and with the added bonus of being able to personalize it. I am very happy with the end result!
I am very happy with the utensil holder Meghan made for/with me. She made it a really nice collaborative effort which give me a great personal connection to what is ultimately “stuff”. Meghan was easy to work and was clearly interested in doing a great job. She communicated well. I think it was a great value for the piece and the experience of being part of the process. Sincerely, Krista
