Whenever possible, Jonathan uses u.SHIP.com for shipping. Jonathan finds the service, prices, and care superior to FedEX and UPS. Moreover, Jonathan finds it easier to accurately quote shipping costs using u.SHIP.com. When shipping is done via FedEx or UPS, a charge will be added for crating your piece. These carriers handle boxes roughly and are notoriously bad about accepting claims for damage they cause. This means great care, much time, and considerable material costs are involved in crating furniture to assure it arrive undamaged via these two carriers. This can easily add $50.00 or $100.00 to the cost of your piece; but the cost of shipping damage and the aggravation that results to both me and you are incalculable. This is the primary reason I use u.SHIP.com when possible, because they pick up your piece, blanket wrap it, handle it with extreme care and hand deliver to your door without the need for crating charges.. All FedEX and UPS quotes are padded because actual cost when given to FedEx (or UPS) magically change, sometimes because the final package size or weight ends up being larger than used for the quote. Shipping costs are what they are and are the responsibility of the client. On occasion the actual shipping cost via FedEx or UPS deviates enough from my quote that I request the balance from the client via PayPal. All efforts are made to quote shipping accurately, but four years at this business proves to me it cannot always be done. By accepting this offer, the client accepts the possibility that there will be some shortfall in the money collected for shipping and agrees to cover that shortfall. Maker will post scan of bill of lading along with tracking number. For jobs withing 100 miles of San Diego, Antikea may offer low cost personal delivery. Free pickup is always permitted.

Refund Policy: Jonathan builds flawless, one-of-a-kind art furniture to the specifications of each client. Quality is never an issue! Clients receive photographs of the entire process from the selection of lumber to the finished product. No refunds are offered after the down payment has been processed and the first materials for the project have been purchased. The client is responsible for full payment of the contract as soon as the project is marked complete on the custommade.com website. Returns are made only for major structural failure, something that is almost inconceivable. Maker reserves the absolute right to repair or refund for major structural failures. Cancellations after the down payment and first purchase of materials will result in forfeiture of the down payment. Maker reserves the absolute right to waive or enforce full payment of the original contract price after the down payment and first purchase of materials. Client agrees that all disputes that cannot be resolved will be adjudicated in the Superior Court of San Diego County, California.
