Oak Burl Bowl

It is with great pleasure that I write this review. We contacted Drew to make a walnut mantel for us. Drew was very attentive to our desire to have a very active live edge on this piece. He made a sincere effort to identify what we had in mind, and sent several pictures of potential logs for our comment. When we ultimately narrowed down three logs, we were undecided between two of them. He went the other extra mile and finished both of them, and brought both so we could choose between the two. Both were absolutely beautiful and was a difficult decision to make. A wonderful predicament to be in. The whole process was a complete joy, never felt any pressure at all, in fact quite the opposite! I would most highly recommend Drew and his work. J & D Woodworking (Drew Dodson) customized a shadow box for me for a vintage quilt. The finished product exceeded my expectations in every way. The shadow box itself was beautiful, and Drew provided exemplary customer service, while at the same time, provided extraordinary value. There is no possible way I could be happier with my project! This was my first time on custommade.com, after several attempts to find my piece, or someone capable of making it, and I'm so thankful I got to work with such a wonderful artist. From the beginning of the project, he was very friendly, helpful, communicative, and determined to make sure the piece turned out the way I hoped. I received continuous updates (and pictures) and he was extremely open to any and all feedback I offered. Very pleasant to work with. Went above and beyond with the finished product. I was not expecting a box and hand written note along with my piece, saves me the hassle of figuring out how to wrap it. And the box came jam packed with bubble wrap that my 3yr old had a blast with. lol. If I ever need anything else, I will definitely be a repeat customer. :)
