The Richest Kids Without A Dime.

"The Richest Kids Without a Dime" is a sculpture consisting of barnboard, driftwood, and various hardwoods. It's 3D nature would allow it to be called a diorama of sorts. It is a landscape inspired by my favorite place on this beautiful planet. Having spent most of my spare time kayaking the Chittenden Resovoir with my 4 year old twins, my girlfriend, and numerous enlightened friends, I ran across many pieces of beautiful driftwood. My daughter Camille loves to collect all of natures treasures and in doing so inspired me to do the same. Several of the pieces we collected instantly told me what they would become. We found the wooden eagle's body about five feet away from it's head and knew they would soon have to be joined. The sky is a piece of barnboard from northern vermont, the mountains of red birch, and the water of curly maple all framed by driftwood from the same body of water. The base and back are made of black walnut. The kayak was carved of spalted maple and the paddle of mahogony. The first day we paddled our Jocasee kayak across this resovoir we were surprised to see a bald eagle. We had heard that they were making it as far as Vermont but were still quite surprised to see one. Thanks for viewing.
