Each realistic glass blackberry sculpture is a bit over 3/4 inch high. I form them by melting colored glass rods in the flame of a torch. I make the blackberry one cell at a time using heat, surface tension, gravity and a couple of basic tools. No two are every exactly alike. Like a real blackberry, your sculpture will have the "plug" still inside from when it was picked. The drupelets will be rounded and shiny, and the berry can be all black or have some red cells. I achieve variations in the color by custom-mixing several colors of glass rods together, by selective heating and cooling, or by melting powdered colored glass into the surface. I don't use paint, so the color will never fade or rub off.
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more lifelike.
These glass berries are lifelike enough to fool adults at first glance. Never display your glass berries where they could be confused with real fruit. Never put them in your mouth, even for fun, or allow anyone else to do so. Make sure to keep them out of the reach of children of any age.
Your order will be carefully packaged with biodegradable plant fiber batting inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a pretty red stretch bow.

About Me:
I have been working with glass for about thirty years in total, and have made my living as a glass sculptor and jewelry designer for the last fifteen years.
About My Work:
My current work focuses on lifelike fruits and berries which I make from glass in the flame of a torch. I sell the glass berries as sculpture as single pieces or in customized groupings, and I also incorporate them into unique jewelry pieces, often custom-designed for individual clients.
The jewelry designs can range from very simple pendants and earrings to complex statement pieces. Take a look at my Custom and Quick Order listings to get some ideas of what can be done. I would love to design a custom piece just for you.
My Business:
My work is also available for purchase around the United States at major glass and art galleries, and my pieces have found homes in private collections all over the world. I also do business under the name GlassBerries.

For Glass CherriesI ordered glass cherries from Elizabeth, and she crafted, shipped them, and they arrived within seven days of ordering. Stunning and increadibly realistic. Keep in mind that the photographs come out quite a bit brighter and lighter. The tones of the actual pieces are softer and really beautiful. Definitely recommended!
