One Realistic Glass Ripe Blueberry Sculpture, Hand Blown and Life-Sized

I form each realistic blueberry sculpture by melting colored glass rods in the flame of a torch. I use heat, surface tension, gravity and a couple of basic tools to make the blueberry shape, so no two are ever exactly alike. Like a real blueberry, your sculpture will have a mottled surface and a little stem scar "belly button" at the base. I can even put on a short copper wire "stem" if you like! (My Dad used to joke that if there was only one blueberry with its stem still attached in the pint, it would wind up in HIS cereal.) I achieve the level of ripeness you want by layering on and melting in several colors of powdered glass. Because I don't use paint, the color will never fade or rub off. I round the points of the flower star to prevent them from scratching anyone and to make them stronger.

Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more lifelike.

These glass berries are lifelike enough to fool adults at first glance. Never display your glass berries where they could be confused with real fruit. Never put them in your mouth, even for fun, or allow anyone else to do so. Make sure to keep them out of the reach of children of any age.

Your order will be carefully packaged with biodegradable plant fiber batting inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a pretty red stretch bow.

About Me:
I have been working with glass for about thirty years in total, and have made my living as a glass sculptor and jewelry designer for the last seventeen years.

About My Work:
My current work focuses on lifelike fruits and berries which I make from glass in the flame of a torch. I sell the glass berries as sculpture as single pieces or in customized groupings, and I also incorporate them into unique jewelry pieces, often custom-designed for individual clients.

The jewelry designs can range from very simple pendants and earrings to complex statement pieces. Take a look at my listings to get some ideas of what can be done. I would love to design a custom piece just for you.

My Business:
My company, Elizabeth Johnson Art Glass, LLC, is registered in the state of Colorado. I also do business under the registered name GlassBerries. My work is available for purchase around the United States at major glass and art galleries, and my pieces have found homes in private collections all over the world.

The earrings arrived very quickly and where well packaged. The earrings themselves are beautifully hand crafted and exceeded my expectations. I am sure my wife will be pleased with her Valentines gift this year!

Elizabeth's work is gorgeous. I would have a whole bowl of berries if I could!
