What you should know. The goal with my work has been to mirror the experience of a child seeing the world for the first time. I think this experience exemplifies a kind of purity, and expressing it through my art has been my greatest challenge. Purity seems to fade as we age and as we become more "intelligent." This change in people is, however, a contradiction. Shouldn't we become more pure as we age? Another process I address in my Art is stream-of-consciousness thought. The visual representation of a complete thought pattern, as a notion, is absurd, interesting, and mysterious because our thoughts are non-linear. The quest to express ideas, regardless of the absurdity of the drive, dictated the mediums I choose to work in. I have experimented with many of them in the past and have found printmaking to be the best for me. The process of discovery involved in it has always surprised me and therefore makes up most of my work.
