This gorgeous sofa/foyer/occasional table was hand made from beautiful Black Cherry that grew right here at BlackWater. When I get a crazy idea in my head like this, it won't go away until I build it! I used native White Ash for accents on the top and in the hand turned legs. It measures about 52 inches long, 15 wide, and 32 high. It's finished in hand rubbed oil - my favorite finish. The legs are removable to avoid damage while moving, and for shipping. The square tops of the legs fit into channels behind the skirt and are held in place with a single screw each. The Black Cherry will in time darken to the rich warm color that all Cherry takes on, whereas the White Ash will hold its lighter color, allowing for a beautiful contrast between the two!
