Magnificent Spalted Hackberry Sofa/Foyer Table
This gorgeous sofa/foyer/occasional table was hand made from beautiful Spalted Hackberry that grew right here at BlackWater. I've been wanting to build one of these for quite some time, but had to wait until my Hackberry was finished in the kiln! I used native Black Walnut for accents on the top and in the hand turned legs. It measures about 50 inches long, 15 wide, and 32 high. It's finished in hand rubbed oil - my favorite finish. The legs are removable to avoid damage while moving, and for shipping. The square tops of the legs fit into channels behind the skirt and are held in place with a single screw each. At this time I have enough of this magnificent wood to build a full set - Cocktail table and two end tables. If you would be interested in the set, contact me and we'll get started!
