Hand Carved Tantalus Liquor Box
A liquor box which holds 3 small Taverna crystal decanters and 6 Glencairn Whiskey glasses. I added a fold down pouring tray which holds one decanter and 4 glasses. This piece is hand made, with hand cut half lap, through tenon corner joints. The wood is Mountain Ash, or Rowan, it was milled here on the island, from a tree that fell during an ice storm a couple of years ago. The finish is a series of 3 hand crafted washes, made from Fir bark, Walnut husks, and liquid creosote, followed by penetrating coats of Linseed oil, and a top coat of pigmented wax.
