Customized Guitar Pyrography

$200

This guitar was customized with pyrography or "wood burnings" by the owner. All pyrography is done 100% by hand, NO MACHINES. The gloss and hardware were removed before the process began and a matte finished was added after completion. This particular guitar was based off of a two-in-one children's book called "If You're Afraid of the Dark Add One More Star to the Night" and, "If You're Afraid of the Dark Remember the Night Rainbow" by Cooper Edens. The face of the guitar displays the customers favorite illustrations while the rest cover the back and sides. The whimsical characters and scenery were tweaked to best fit the instrument itself while still staying true to the original depictions. The only color added was to hide a few blemishes by matching the primary stain. This guitar displays a New Orleans feel with a large amount of texture and detail on every side.

Pyrography was introduced to Julie by her grandmother Maxine, who also had a love of nature and art. Pyrography soon became a calming and rewarding expression of her artistic notions. When first working with wood, Julie discovered it was an uncommon medium among other local artists. This intrigue soon led to nature inspired artwork utilizing Julie's ideas, along with client's ideas for custom orders. Sharing a sense of beauty and style with her customers, she enjoys being driven by their input as she creates unconventional pieces. Bold textures, colors and designs are formed by her own unique processes. These methods include pyrography, carving, painting, staining, glossing and much more.
