Fairy With Butterfly - Celtic Knotwork Etched Glass Decorative Art Tabletop Display
The kindness of the natural and supernatural worlds come together in this Fantasy inspired decorative etched glass art. . Created on a 6" diameter of 1/4" thick glass a woodland fairy calls to her butterfly friend inviting it to rest upon her outreached finger. The edge is sandblasted to give a simple border to this lens into such hidden places. . The sandblasted artwork is designed for both sides of the glass to create an added depth to the piece. Carving, frosting, and shaded techniques are all incorporated to give the quality and dimension in the etching. . The design has a Celtic theme using a band of knotwork etched into the front side and merging with lotus petals toward her feet. The fairy is then on the backside showing the depth of the two surface planes. As you move around the object, you can feel the motion within the 3d object. . The glass sits in a slotted maplewood base. The base helps add that natural touch and bring the composition together. It is then complimentary to any rooms interior decor however it is displayed - on a mantle or coffee table or even in a cabinet case lighted to show off the quality of art glass.
