Custom Desk And Bookcases
A custom installation of desk and three bookcases. It was made from ¾" Euro plywood…a very strong, 13-layer plywood on which the ends are left exposed. This material is used a lot for shelves and cabinets. Surface is clear maple finished with satin polyurethane. The overall dimensions of the desktop are 30" deep and 72" wide. Desk height is standard 30". Bookcases vary in size. The sizes of these units can be customized to the location.

I am a woodworker. I have a small shop making furniture in a casual style. Much of it has a natural, unfinished look (although it's actually coated for protection). A lot of use of metal brackets and exposed screws. An architect friend calls it a packing-crate aesthetic.
