These tables consist of a fresh take on "pallet furniture". Starting with used shipping pallets, the tables are painted with lane marking spray-paint and splattered/dripped/adorned with three additional colors of paint. The legs are additionally made from reused / reclaimed 4 x 4 posts. Each table features two heavy coats of acrylic coating to protect the splatter magic top, and swivel casters on the legs for ease of moving the table around. The accidental intersections of the lines and pools of paint on the surface form a pattern which is every changing and enticing. One can look at this table for hours and keep discovering new forms of interplay among the colors. Additionally, the casters on the legs of the table gives a light, free-floating feel to the piece which allows it to roll around easily, creating a dynamic nature to how it fits in with the furniture and people around it. Sturdy legs and top make for a great industrial appearance, but it's still made from soft wood (pine), so no dancing on it! Re-used materials: pallet, latex paint, posts New materials: lane marking paint, hardware

Spacebarn is about re-creation, re-use and resourcefulness.
All of the products sold by this workshop have incorporated used materials from some other life. They come from attics, basements, flea markets, antique stores and the dumpster. Additionally, my work as a contract carpenter allows me to salvage many pieces of wood and hardware in the demolition phase of my projects, These materials have a lot of life left, they have stories to tell. Spacebarn tells those stories. I know where every product that goes into my pieces comes from. Everything from the wood to the nails and screws, the glue and the finishes. It has all been procured from reused sources or local businesses. This is important to my philosophy of creation.
Spacebarn is about creating works in a responsible and sustainable way.
Each creation from Spacebarn is an original and unique piece created solely by the owner. Each piece has been looked and worked over many times. With woodworking pieces, a lot of time has been spent sanding and planning the wood – with hand tools as well as power tools – to gain that original feel of the wood that can’t be achieved with large factory planners, table saws and scroll saws.
