Walking Stick/Cane, A Good Time To Call

Walking Stick/Cane, A Good Time To Call

$200

This walking Stick features an antique bronze toad sitting on a lily blossom. I imported the handle from England. It is believed to have been manufactured in the late 1800s or early 1900s. On the solid oak shaft I have hand-carve a quote from The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame "It's never the wrong time to call on Toad. Early or late he's always the same fellow. Always good-tempered, always glad to see you, always sorry when you go!" I have always hoped that I was perceived this way. I love it when friends drop in. This is a great stick for anyone who loves visiting with friends. Shaft Material: Oak Handle Material: Bronze Length: 35.25 inches

I retired from the USAF after 28 years and now I make canes, walking sticks, jewelry and art pieces full time. The Quotable Walking Stick is a concept that I started. I find rare, unusual, and/or antique items to make into walking stick handles. Then I find an appropriate quote from literature, movies, music or elsewhere that I feel compliments the user.
Quotes have always been an important part of my life. It is comforting to know that others we admire think along the same lines as we do. I hope you will find one that speaks to you.
