This walking stick is dedicated to the Nature Lover. I have hand-carved this verse from the Lord Byron's poem There is Pleasure in the Pathless Woods "There is pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more." I love walking in the woods and other places where there are no paths. With the finely crafted brass bird on top of a Cherry wood shaft, this is a perfect companion for anyone who loves nature. I retired from the USAF after 28 years and now I make canes, walking sticks, jewelry and art pieces full time. The Quotable Walking Stick is a concept that I started. I find rare, unusual, and/or antique items to make into walking stick handles. Then I find an appropriate quote from literature, movies, music or elsewhere that I feel compliments the user.
Quotes have always been an important part of my life. It is comforting to know that others we admire think along the same lines as we do. I hope you will find one that speaks to you.
