Walking Stick/Cane, Time To Get Real
This walking stick has a beautiful quote from The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams: "Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." The handle is a resin cast rabbit head that I imported from England and hand-painted. The shaft is Cherry which is difficult to carve because it clogs up my bit very quickly so I am having to constantly clean it. But the result is worth the effort.
