Wood Carving: The Owl In Cedar
Handmade in Fernley, Nevada by QuotableWalkingStick
This is a very old piece of High Desert Cedar that I carved an owl looking out of it's home. I love the natural color of the wood and I try to perserve that in every piece that I do.

QuotableWalkingStick
I retired from the USAF after 28 years and now I make canes, walking sticks, jewelry and art pieces full time. The Quotable Walking Stick is a concept that I started. I find rare, unusual, and/or antique items to make into walking stick handles. Then I find an appropriate quote from literature, movies, music or elsewhere that I feel compliments the user.
Quotes have always been an important part of my life. It is comforting to know that others we admire think along the same lines as we do. I hope you will find one that speaks to you.

May 6, 2019My father-in-law's birthday was fastly approaching and I felt as if I couldn't come up with gift idea that was equally beautiful and useful. Until I stumbled upon Micheal's work. I got lucky! Not only is his work truly stunning, you have the option to pick a "quote" that has meaning to you or to whomever is receiving the gift. How thoughtful is that?! I knew I finally found the perfect gift. Michael was very responsive and timely and just an overall joy to work with.
