This is a one of a kind cane. The handle is an antique silver lady's leg that was apparently made before maker marks were required which puts it at over 150 years old. It weighs an impressive 195 grams that's over 6 Troy Ounces! It has had a few dings over the years but it still is a magnificent piece. The shaft is a rare Leopold and clearly shows the incredible grain pattern that gives it its name. Made for a delicate hand, this is a remarkable cane.

I retired from the USAF after 28 years and now I make canes, walking sticks, jewelry and art pieces full time. The Quotable Walking Stick is a concept that I started. I find rare, unusual, and/or antique items to make into walking stick handles. Then I find an appropriate quote from literature, movies, music or elsewhere that I feel compliments the user.
Quotes have always been an important part of my life. It is comforting to know that others we admire think along the same lines as we do. I hope you will find one that speaks to you.

For Abaris CanesHonestly, all around great guy. He helped me out with a project in a field I know nothing about and was very understanding of my poor communication. He finished the project early and shipped our canes out across the country individually bubble wrapped. Can't hope for much more in a person than that.

For Walking stickEverything these reviews say are spot-on. Michael was fantastic--I approached him on this site about a walking stick I wanted to have made for my mother this Christmas. I had a few ideas kicking around, but time was tight, because I got around to it later than I should have. And yet, not only did Michael make my vision happen--and honestly, he made it better than I'd had in my head--but he did it in barely more than a week's time (including planning), chose a stunning piece of wood, and kept me posted before he made any major moves. And he was so nice throughout the entire process. I have been incredibly happy with the process and the end product, and I can't recommend him enough.
ALSO--it gets even better: since I had asked if there was any way that I could get the bird's beak painted, he actually pulled his wife, a painter, onto the project too, and she did a beautiful job painting not just the beak, but the whole bird. They're like a power crafting duo, and I can't thank them enough for making this walking stick happen.

For Rook CaneThere weren't enough stars to properly reflect this experience - Michael was a remarkable professional through this whole project. I had my thoughts and ideas, but he really grasped what I envisioned (even better, in fact). He took great care through the whole process to update me on the progress and ask my opinion about everything, and obviously took his time and put great care into the details of this cane. A man of integrity, patience and professionalism, I'd be thrilled to work with him again in the future or recommend him to anyone for their Custom Made projects!

For walking cane with skeeter logoMy husband was extremely pleased with his new walking cane. The detail work is very impressive. We would definitely go through custom made again and particularly this maker. He was great at keeping me up to date on the project and sending pictures along the way. A very pleasant experience.
