This was a column made with a very special material. The wood is red oak that has been thermally modified (torrified). The thermal modification radically changes the properties of wood (colour, stability, rot resistance, hardness). It is difficult to work with but yields very beautiful results.

The finials came out amazingly! I just sent the dimensions to them in order to replicate some porch finials that existed on a Victorian House.
