Esteban's Straight Razor
This was an interesting forge - the W1 steel I chose for it only came in large sections, so a lot of forging was required to bring it to shape. I edge quenched it in oil, and tempered it for edge holding, seeing how it was to be used to shave with. I still get a kick from the mini-ram's head.

Born and raised in the city, I am a New Yorker to the core. I’ve seen this island at its worst and made it through in one piece; so it’s reasonable to say I would like to continue living and working in an urban environment for years to come. In the past I have freelanced as a 3D computer artist and animator, ironwork designer, and product designer/developer. Today I am a full time teacher and bladesmith.
2017 I won Forged In Fire (a competition knife and sword making show on the History channel) twice, becoming the third Forged In Fire champion of champions. The winnings from the show allowed me to grow my tiny shop into a small school, and 2019 we moved into Industry City to grow the school and add the storefront.
