Dragon Katana
Forged W2 blade differentially hardened with clay to form a hamon. Blade is 29.5", handle is 12". Cast bronze fittings with brass menuki (sporting my maker's mark). Tsuba was designed and cast by fellow Brooklynite and metalworker Kirsten Cosgrove @kirstencos Tsuka (handle) and saya are solid black G10 as per customer's request.

Born and raised in the city, I am a New Yorker to the core. I’ve seen this island at its worst and made it through in one piece; so it’s reasonable to say I would like to continue living and working in an urban environment for years to come. In the past I have freelanced as a 3D computer artist and animator, ironwork designer, and product designer/developer. Today I am a full time teacher and bladesmith.
2017 I won Forged In Fire (a competition knife and sword making show on the History channel) twice, becoming the third Forged In Fire champion of champions. The winnings from the show allowed me to grow my tiny shop into a small school, and 2019 we moved into Industry City to grow the school and add the storefront.
