These shelves were made with love for my little boy Alex to hold his toys and books in his room. Both my wife and I love the idea of Montessori furniture that allows kids to learn things on their own (how to take out and put away their toys, sit in a chair at a table, etc.). This project is constructed from Southern yellow pine with purpleheart wedges in the ends of the shelves. I designed it like this so it is easy to knock down and take apart if we need to move the shelves or store them later.
