This desk and interaction counter was made to match the existing décor of a 1910 Mansion in Hartford CT. This old home was bought and converted to house a law firm, and this desk and interaction counter was built into the foyer. The wood is all quarter sawn white oak, stained and glazed to match the existing wood in the building. I designed and built this desk both in the shop and onsite working around the customer's schedule and being as unobtrusive as possible. A large amount of the cost for this project stemmed from matching three moldings that were unique to this installation. I had custom knives for this job to make those moldings. The desk top represents one of my areas of expertise in which geometric angle changes forcing exact technical cuts yield a design that looks simple but is difficult to do well.
