This candle is made from 2 full pounds of pure local beeswax. Beeswax is the longest and cleanest burning of any wax. This wax is from a small honey farm down the road from my home. Healthy bees make beautiful wax! Beeswax candles are a natural and sustainable alternative to the common paraffin (made from petroleum) variety…it will give off a warmer glow, burn longer, and clean the air. This candle burns beautifully. It will burn down through the entire pillar over time, making an illuminated beeswax "lamp." Looks great in a large glass hurricane or on a saucer. This pillar would make a perfect centerpiece for a dinner or event. This candle would make a great gift for a friend. Each candle is hand poured, one at a time. 3" diameter and 9" tall. 100% pure cotton wick. About beeswax candles: Beeswax produces a negative ion when burning. Burning beeswax candles removes dust, household odors, pollen, viruses, toxins – as well as mold and mildew – from the air. Color: Some color variations are inevitable due to the length of time wax has remained in the hive, the pollen source, and the type of honey made in the hive. This makes each candle unique. You may see some propolis or pollen in the wax, which lets you know it's minimally filtered and pure. Beeswax Burning Tips: Beeswax candles are naturally dripless and smokeless; so burn time is longer. It's best not to burn any candle for more than 4 hours at a time, because the candle may get too soft. Trim the wick back to 1/4" each time before relighting the candle. Always keep candles away from pets and animals, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Thanks to the bees!

I am an industrial designer with a home workshop near Philadelphia, PA. I am a mother of two little boys, and a maker of things whenever I have a free hand.
I work with natural materials to create functional and meaningful pieces that will last a lifetime or longer. I allow the natural materials to "be themselves," or I let their natural characteristics become the character of the finished piece.
My pieces are sold in local boutiques and museum shops, as well as online.
