Pelicans At The Wharf

$1,550

Head board and picture combined in this price. Head board is made of poplar wood. If another wood type is desired, the cost will be updated. While visiting Amelia Island in northern Florida, my wife and I walked down to the wharf. The many types of birds, most of which are pelicans, gather on the docks, waiting for local fisherman to return for the evening. As fish are cleaned, scraps are fed and it creates many happy birds. I was able to capture the patience of two of these pelicans as they waited for their meal, as they stood on one of the docks. Two very good friends asked if my wife and I would remodel their guest cottage with a fresh look. We discussed the paint colors and type of design they were looking for and decided upon a seascape motif. The picture frame is distressed to fit into this decor. The headboard posts are made with a pelican on each of the corner posts, facing each other. The slats are intended to reflect upon the dock at the wharf, only upended. I used select poplar wood for the headboard and the frame is made of a hardwood. Both the photo and the headboard would be sold as a set or separately and the price would be reflected accordingly. The buyers were great to work with as was the design subject and I welcome working and designing with a buyer on this or other types of projects.

For over four decades, we have enjoyed making award winning fine art, including oil painting, custom furniture and leather work.

Claudia studied the old masters styles of drawing and painting at The Atelier in Minneapolis, MN. She paints with feeling and passion with a specialization in two particular styles of combined impressionistic and abstract oil painting as well as still life. Her style has a bit of a whimsical feeling to it and her goal is to show the joy that she feels when she sees how God has created nature that she paints.

Denny uses lumber from local suppliers and saw mills. He has chosen to fill a market niche by utilizing reclaimed or lumber from trees from his customers that they find to be sentimental or historical in their families.

He looks for opportunities to work with clients who desire a new and fresh design in their furniture and leather work. All of these areas allow for a way to fill a need that often is not available in the retail market. For example, the picture of the kitchen table made of oak and granite were not available either in size or of materials and led to the chance to develop them both for personal use as well as for availability to customers who are interested.

Leather and wood furniture are especially great projects to work on with our clientele and we look forward to each persons ideas and input as we build together.

Thank you very much for considering working with us on your Custom Made project.
