Custom Made Walnut Vertical Hand Crafted Chef's Knife Block
During the past year, we have had requests to make a vertical standing knife block; quite different from the standard blocks that protrude at an angle. Each slot in the block is customized to allow the knife to fit securely and in unison with the other knives. It is as much for efficiency as it is an artful design. This walnut block listed is 17" long x 3.5" wide x 9" high. It also has a slot for scissors. It has three coats of hand rubbed beeswax and food safe mineral oil applied as well. We also sell containers of this same formula, if you wish to purchase it. For over four decades, we have enjoyed making award winning fine art, including oil painting, custom furniture and leather work.
Claudia studied the old masters styles of drawing and painting at The Atelier in Minneapolis, MN. She paints with feeling and passion with a specialization in two particular styles of combined impressionistic and abstract oil painting as well as still life. Her style has a bit of a whimsical feeling to it and her goal is to show the joy that she feels when she sees how God has created nature that she paints.
Denny uses lumber from local suppliers and saw mills. He has chosen to fill a market niche by utilizing reclaimed or lumber from trees from his customers that they find to be sentimental or historical in their families.
He looks for opportunities to work with clients who desire a new and fresh design in their furniture and leather work. All of these areas allow for a way to fill a need that often is not available in the retail market. For example, the picture of the kitchen table made of oak and granite were not available either in size or of materials and led to the chance to develop them both for personal use as well as for availability to customers who are interested.
Leather and wood furniture are especially great projects to work on with our clientele and we look forward to each persons ideas and input as we build together.
