Solid Maple Vertical Knife Block Mounted In Spice Cabinet
We were asked by this wonderful client if we could build this vertical knife block, which would be mounted in a sliding spice drawer. The direction of each knife slot needed to be made so that the knives, shears and sharpening steel would be easily accessible, with the flow of the knife block instead of across it, as we usually build this block. We also added a strip of Maple on each of the two ends for aesthetics as well as extra stability of the block. We were provided a sketch with the exact measurements of each slot, as well as the height, width and length. Note that this block needed to fit within the top shelf of this sliding spice drawer. The finish that we applied is of food safe cutting board wax. If you would like us to build a customized knife block for you, please contact us and we will help you make this a reality. For over four decades, we have enjoyed making award winning fine art, including oil painting, custom furniture and leather work.
Claudia studied the old masters styles of drawing and painting at The Atelier in Minneapolis, MN. She paints with feeling and passion with a specialization in two particular styles of combined impressionistic and abstract oil painting as well as still life. Her style has a bit of a whimsical feeling to it and her goal is to show the joy that she feels when she sees how God has created nature that she paints.
Denny uses lumber from local suppliers and saw mills. He has chosen to fill a market niche by utilizing reclaimed or lumber from trees from his customers that they find to be sentimental or historical in their families.
He looks for opportunities to work with clients who desire a new and fresh design in their furniture and leather work. All of these areas allow for a way to fill a need that often is not available in the retail market. For example, the picture of the kitchen table made of oak and granite were not available either in size or of materials and led to the chance to develop them both for personal use as well as for availability to customers who are interested.
Leather and wood furniture are especially great projects to work on with our clientele and we look forward to each persons ideas and input as we build together.

For Walnut Vertical Hand Crafted Chef's Knife Block5.0This was my first experience with 'Custom Made' and certainly my first with Debner. What I was looking for, I was not able to find anywhere else. I had a set of kitchen and steak knives commissioned for me, and I was looking for a custom knife block that was very rustic that would compliment the more refined look of the knives.
