A lovely couple from TN lived in a home near a river where they spent much of their time. They requested a large window between their pantry and laundry room that could also be seen from the main living area. It had to be mostly opaque as to not let the laundry be seen. I suggested a large art and crafts style tree with the river and the Blue Ridge Mtns. in the distant background and a border that complemented their Craftsman style decor. This included both the leaded and copper foil techniques. I used more vivid colors as there was no natural or back light in this space. This installed window measured approx. 29"x 40"

The Alchemy of Glass!
I have been working with art glass for about 8 years and I still smile each time I walk into my shop to find myself surrounded by beautiful glass and all of it's possibilities.
While working on a window I hold up pieces of glass, or place it on my light table and see the potential beauty of each piece… but that is where faith comes into play.
I know it's there… "the magic of the glass".
I don't know when or where it's going to happen. But at some time the sun is going to hit the glass, just so, and it's going to explode in shimmering, intense colors that don't really seem to exist otherwise.
I only use high quality hand rolled glasses and they all have metals, like gold, that hide and wait until just the right moment of light to reveal themselves.
I am so fortunate to live in Oregon where some of the best glasses are made- Kokomo, Youghioheny and Uroboros.
My glass designs are original and are often inspired by nature, lending them organic lines with fluid movement and character.
A favorite inspiration has come from vintage prints of nature that are then translated in stained glass forms.
A unique feature of my work is my decorative soldering technique in the style of Greene & Greene.
This relief style adds depth and realism, such as branches with buds and vines with thorns that ask to be touched.
My techniques include copper foil and leaded glass using only the finest hand rolled glass.
I would love to create a design to fit your space and your concepts- or, if you need inspiration, I can create a stained glass window or panel based on my own ideas for your space which would include photos of the various stages of your piece for your approval.
The cost of the windows include the design process with up to 3 revisions and progression photos of the process as your window is being custom made.
I look forward to working with you to create a one of kind stained glass piece just for you!
