Colorblock Pedestal/Trestle Table
Here's the original request we received: Customer is looking for an oblong dining table. She would like it to mimic the one in the image provided. The table should be made of wood and painted black on the bottom of the table including the legs/base. It has 1 leaf that can be added when needed for additional seating. Customer would like to stay closer to budget and is willing to be flexible on material (will consider pine/poplar). The base does not have to look exactly like the one in the image if it means increasing budget. In addition to the table, she may also want a leaf (36" wide) to match. Will you please price out (1) the table in pine, poplar, and cherry with a leaf and (2) a table the table in pine, poplar, and cherry without a leaf? Customer would like this in 6 weeks. If interested, would you please provide information as to: 1. Pricing—at what price would you be happy to make this? 2. Additional details, including any special consideration about materials, size, or method 3. Shipping costs to 63017 4. Estimated delivery (number of weeks from proposal acceptance) 5. Payment terms: Is 50% up front / 50% upon completion (i.e. 50/50) acceptable, or do you prefer to work 66/34? Here are some details on the project from the maker: 48"x 36" table oblong with 12" leaf, base as in portfolio, top solid cherry stain of clients choice,, every thing but top painted black. Will send samples of stain and edge treatments for aprovel . Table to be delivered and placed inside house. Delivery will be in 4to5 weeks depending on how soon I can get center of pedestal back from the turners.

There was a misunderstanding in communication regarding the drawer sizes which Mr. McGregor corrected at no extra charge. I would suggest that if you are ordering a custom made vanity or any other project to request a sketch or provide a sketch yourself and make sure that everyone is on the same page. Mr. McGregor has a well equipped shop and has years of experience. Our daughter and her husband are thinking of ordering a custom vanity themselves.

For 5' Raised Panel Oak Vanity3.8Started very well. Pat had no problems with some minor changes I made to his original vanity shown and agreed to build some other cabinets to go along with the vanity. Proposed sending stain samples and photos as work progressed neither of which did I receive until ready for shipment. The stain, I ended up going to HD and viewing in the paint department. No big deal. Earlier photos would I think have saved a redoing of one piece of a middle drawer and the disappointment of the drawer fronts. The middle drawer was actually my fault as a gave him one wrong dimension and he agreed to fix it at additional cost. The drawer fronts, however, I felt did not match the beauty of the doors on the vanity and the cabinets. Earlier photos may have corrected the drawers more to my liking, but may not have corrected the incorrect dimension. Shipping was fast except the cabinets should have had some shipping foam around them inside the cardboard boxes due to the unavoidable movement inside that caused some chaffing of the corners. The chaffing removed some of the stain. In addition one corner was damaged and split that luckily can be covered by some trim. Had the split continued that cabinet would be ruined. Overall, with the exception of the doors, I would rate the cabinets as a B, they did not strike your eye as a totally finished product.

For Aurelio's Armoire4.8The coffin-shaped armoire arrived and I couldn't be happier with it! Pat made it exactly to my specifications. It's just amazing! The price was absolutely fantastic and he included shipping!!! The shipping was terminal to terminal which made me a bit nervous because I'd never done that before and it meant having to rent a vehicle and go out to New Jersey ( from Manhattan ) to get the armoire. But all in all, it was really not a big deal and the Fed Ex freight personal were a pleasure to work with. My only criticism was that the packing could have been a bit better but honestly, for the AMAZING price, the AMAZING workmanship and the speed with which he made the item and how quickly it shipped, I really can't complain at all. I will be very proudly featuring this piece in my upcoming webshow "Gothic Homemaking with Aurelio Voltaire" on Youtube. I can't recommend Pat enough, seriously! His work is fantastic!!!
