Hummingbird Spirit - Aluminum Metal Bird Tribal Wall Sculpture

$95

A very popular design! Let me create for you a solid-aluminum Hummingbird Spirit flying songbird sculpture 14 inches wide and 16 inches high. Inspired by Pacific Northwest Coast Indian Haida and Tlingit designs. Can complete your order in 3 to 4 weeks. Take a look at these photos to build your own design. They include the tribal hummingbird with red-orange and blue accent colors. The last few photo show the steps to create your unique piece. You get to pick (1) right or left-flying direction and (2) accent color (blue, red-orange, or black as the only color). Order more than one and create your own flock! Convo with me if you have any questions. Hand shaped and formed from a thin aluminum sheet using metalworking chisels, punches, hammers, and mallets. The aluminum was originally to be used for roof flashing. I create the traditional patterns with black, turquoise-blue, and red-orange oil-based paint. A glass taxidermy eye brings the piece to life. You will be amazed at the light weight of the aluminum (no heavy hanging hooks needed) and how its chrome-like, mill-rolled finish reflects the light. A copper wire is attached for hanging, and signed and dated on the back. Use and care: This piece can show inside, or outside under cover. Outdoor direct sunlight may cause the paint to fade. Shipping: Sent by Priority Mail within the United States in a large, well-packed box, so it will get to you in 2 to 3 days after completion.

Mark Noll from Nature Art Studios and Art Guitars has been creating this metal art for over thirteen years and loves to experiment with different designs, tools, and patina finishes. In that time, the fish, marine mammal, bird, dragonfly, butterfly, and guitar pieces have made their way to patrons all over the country and around the world.

His most famous patron is the legendary rock guitarist Slash, who received one of the guitar sculptures as a tenth anniversary gift from his wife Perla. It now hangs in his home studio.

Mark grew up on Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts. As a boy, the shoreline and ocean were his constant companions.

Fascinated by the Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, he attended the local college intent on becoming a marine biologist. As fate would have it, the research vessel, an old fishing boat, was always broken down and getting an internship at Woods Hole was nearly impossible! To help pay for college expenses, he began creating marine animal sculptures that made their way to the New England and Baltimore Aquariums’ gift shops.

After college, he and his bride Wendy made the journey to Oregon and he put his art on hold to pursue a professional career and raise a family. The need to make art persisted and he has now found a home creating nature sculptures using repurposed metals.
