As of January 2014 all packages containing Cremated Remains MUST be properly labeled with a USPS cremated remains sticker and shipped via Priority Express Mail (your kit will include an addressed Priority Express padded flat rate envelope with the stickers already attached) please add signature confirmation. Because of these changes my Shipping fee has been increased. As will your cost to ship your kit back to me. Your cost for shipping the kit to me will be approx. $25 above the $25 shipping charged when you make a purchase from my shop. I wish there was a less expensive way, but out of respect I feel it is important to follow proper shipping protocol. As soon as we come to an agreement about exactly what you want made, and make a purchase, I will send you a kit with everything you will need to safely & legally ship a very small amount (about 1 tsp.) of your loved ones ashes to me. In the kit you will receive: instructions, as well as an addressed padded USPS Priority Express Mail envelope, with USPS cremated remains stickers, a small labeled plastic jar, in a zip-lock type baggie, and a small scoop spoon for the cremains. You will also need to think about whether you want the ashes to be visible, under transparent glass, or hidden from view inside the bead under opaque glass. What type of shape, pattern, color scheme, and style you want, as well as the approximate size of the bead/beads you would like. Once I receive the cremains I will make the beads individually, by melting glass with a torch, and winding it onto a mandrel. During he melting and forming of the bead I incorporate the cremains into the hot glass. the cremains become part of the glass. If you've never seen Lampworking in person, you might want to look at one of the many YouTube videos available. Like this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMOravnFCEg Below are photos of me making beads at the torch. The process will take me anywhere form 4-9 weeks. Usually somewhere in between. But if you have a specific date I can try to accommodate you, although I can't always promise. Any remaining cremains & extra beads (if any) will be returned to you along with your finished piece. I hope that answers your questions satisfactorily. If you are interested in having custom/personalized jewelry made for you using the cremains beads please message me. Again Thank you so much for messaging me. If you feel more comfortable talking live, let me know. We can schedule a phone conversation. I create Handformed Artisan Metal, Wire, Stone and Glass Jewelry, Hair, and Wedding accessories, as well as Handmade Lampwork Glass items. I specialize in Memorial/ Lampwork Glass Cremains Bead Jewelry.
Everything I sell is authentically handcrafted using simple tools and imagination. Everything I can make myself I do. I never purchase mass produced findings and components. I just buy the metal, glass, and wire, and the rest is all me. I am now an official Self Representing Artist in Jewelry Design/ SRAJD #3622

It is very important to me that my work be as much a product of my own hands as possible. I really do want to eventually know how to do everything. I strive on a daily basis to continue to learn new techniques and refine my craft. Custom work is a wonderful way to stretch the limits of my imagination and push me toward greater knowledge and skill.

My favorite thing about creating custom work is the opportunity it gives every individual a chance to use their creativity and help to bring to the world something truly unique. I believe we all have the spark of creation in us. It's a wonderful thing to find a way to bring those ideas to life.

I very much appreciate the opportunity to help YOU create your dream.
