Tudor Gown

$600

This was an outfit made during "Project Renway" for the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival. Every year the experiences seamstresses at the festival host a charity competition for first year performers who wouldn't be able to afford a full costume. The first year performer gives the seamstress a small amount of money with which to purchase materials. The seamstress then has 27 hours to build a complete costume. All of their time is unpaid, and the new performer gets to keep the outfit at the end of the season. This outfit was made from faux silk, cotton, and embroidered faux silk. It features cartidge pleats on the overskirt, which are supported by a bum roll, and a boned bodice. The shirt is hand pleated at the shoulder, and open down the front to give the wearer the ability to change their decolletage. The underskirt is white cotton with an embroidered panel at the front. The hat is a standard flat cap, with contrasting fabric.
