Spiderman Leaded Stained Glass Art. Back Lit With Frame.

$1,750

This is a one of a kind Spiderman leaded stained glass art piece. You will not find another leaded stained glass piece like this anywhere. It is very stunning and a cool piece for a comic collector. The actual glass measures 16"X24". There is a 4" deep wooden frame that houses 3 halogen puck lights (like under counter lighting). It is back lit in the box so that you can mount it anywhere in your home or studio. If you wanted to, you could take it out of the box frame and solder some rings on the lead frame and hang it by a chain in your window. This is a true leaded and putty piece. The outside of the glass piece is zinc H-channel for strength and the rest of the piece is rounded H-channel except the eyes which are flat H-channel with a copper petina. Spidy is buffed shindy and the buidlings have black petina. The spider on his chest is lead and solder (no glass) and has black petina on it. I've included a picture with a Mac mouse for size reference.

I love to make custom one-off stained glass pieces. Even if I try and make the same thing twice they are never truly the same.

Since as long as I can remember, I've always liked building and creating things. I've never been able to consider myself an artist until I started working with stained glass. I could never draw anything other than straight lines with the help of a ruler, painting only if I copied it from something else. But mechanical things always came easy to me. Taking a piece of raw steel, some wire, glass, rubber and plastic and making something with a purpose, taking individual pieces that meant nothing by themselves and creating something that did something other than just look pretty on the wall, something that moved, something that transformed energy into something else. I found that working with glass does this to me.

Tell me your story, tell me why you want your art piece made, give me inspiration to make something that will continue your story for all those that see our work.
