Inspired by the undulating shape of a sine wave, this coffee table is made mostly of bamboo, some bubinga and is completed with hand-made Sapele legs. The finish is an acrylic varnish. The top and bottom are made with two laminated bamboo sheets which make them 1 ½" thick. The back support is bamboo and bubinga laminated in alternating sequence. When ready the support is trimmed, sanded and stained. The vertical supports within the table are stained the same color and they are placed so that they follow the graceful curve of the front of the table. The cubbies that result from the vertical support spacing can be used for storage or display. The dimensions of the table in inches are: 48L X 27W X 18H. The table surfaces and back support are held together with 6 inch stainless steel bolts and barrels that provide the necessary standoff and a bit of Industrial feel. This table will be equally at home in a Modern or Transitional environment and is also available in different wood species and sizes.
