we are pleased with the finished product. we had to send it back after the drawers didn't open properly and then the handles came off. I believe the maker rushed the job at the end to ship it. I would consider working with the maker again, but not on something as complicated as the jewelry box

Bruce did and absolutely beautiful job on our custom jewelry box. We bought a box that was 7" wider than his typical box made from walnut and could not be happier. Everything from the initial order to the arrival went very very well. Timing was as expected. It is custom so it takes the few months that was agreed, no issues there. If you want something made from wood I would definitely recommend Bruce. Communication was great, he is very flexible, even the way it was shipped demonstrated his attention to detail. You can't go wrong with Rat's Wood Creations.

I had been searching Custom Made for a jewelry box for my wife for Christmas to replace the one "lost" during our relocation to the Pacific Northwest. I saw his work in the other creation stories and saw what I was looking for. Bruce was quick to respond to my request, making some suggestions & helping complete the proposal process.

Bruce was quick to provide project updates, photos and allowed me to select the wood for the project itself, providing photos of multiple choices for the main cabinet. Progress showed the jewelry box was coming along well and just as I was wanting. Plus, Bruce was provided a small upgrade to the original wood request vs. the proposal - a big and welcomed surprise.

Bruce was able to get the cabinet done on time and shipped to arrive for Christmas, however, it got caught up in UPS's Christmas shipping issues (not Bruce's fault and he wasn't the only person hit by UPS). This did cause the package to arrive on the 26th, but was not due to any issue with Bruce, specifically, a shipper problem.

The box in person was stunning, the grain of the wood perfect for the box and the wife was happy and soon filling it up (and commenting that there is still room for more). I was very pleased with the final project and can't wait to see how it continues to look over the years. We're ecstatic with the final project and wouldn't hesitate to use Bruce again.

I ordered a 6 drawer jewelry box, cherry wood and brass knobs. This is my first time ever ordering something like this. Bruce was great to work with, he had the project completed and shipped to me on time.
The jewelry box itself is beautiful. Solid wood, fantastic. This exceeded my expectations. A great size and my wife loved it. Her make inside was and added surprise that she loved. The craftsmanship of the jewelry box is wonderful to see. So tired of cheap press board that falls apart. It is expensive but I’ve searched the internet and found a handmade jewelry that according to the reviews were not perfect. You will not be disappointed. When I talked to him on the phone he was very professional. Thank you Bruce.
