Rainbow Trout Window

$200

This 17" round window was created at a customer's request. After the pattern was drawn and then copied to card stock the pattern pieces are cut out. These pieces are then used to layout the design on sheets of glass and traced, A glass cutter is used to cut out each one. This is like creating a glass puzzle. The edges of each piece are then ground smooth so a copper foil can be applied. This provides a surface for the solder to be melted onto. The hooks and brass framing are added last. Once the window was cleaned a black patina was applied to the seams and the details painted on and then heat set. The window is then polished and chain added for display. Priced according to size.

I have always worked with oil paints and various crafts but once I took a course in the art of making stained glass I was hooked. Each new project that I start is still exciting to me. Being able to draw a new pattern and then create the piece in glass is very rewarding. I work in the Tiffany style of glass crafting - cutting out each individual piece of a design then grinding, foiling and soldering. (Imagine making a large glass puzzle). I work closely with my customers to insure they are pleased with the design colors and framing .
Each stained glass item will be made to order. Pricing will calculated by size , detail and framing requested. Shipping will be calculated based on zip code and the size of the finished product.
