Edison's Gift is a found item project which has been completed. It was selected for exhibit in a local show and will be on exhibit from March 1 through September 13, 2013. As a child, I played in the boughs of an old banyan tree on the John Ringling grounds in Sarasota, FL. It inspired me beyond measure, as did my growing up in such a richly cultured community. It came to my knowledge in researching this project that Thomas Edison was the one who gifted the trees to the Ringling's in the 1920's. The name Edison's Gift seemed more than appropriate. I am looking to create a similar project, as soon as I can collect enough materials. Trees are my passion, and rebuilding them out of driftwood and wire is rewarding:)
AspensArt
AspensArt is what I call my shop. I am a native Floridian artist, with roots in Sarasota, as well as Central Florida. I enjoy creating tribal totems in ink. I also create tattoo designs, woodburning (pyrography), sculpture, painting, mural, gemstone and beaded jewelry, repurposed and salvaged items, patchwork clothing, and so much more. My creative ability seems to be limited only by my having the right tools or not.
